"It's great to be back."

Late 2007 and early 2008 have been an interesting time.

My new album is now out, it's called 40 Years On. (Released 26 February 2008).

I have been enjoying my music, and doing the odd show, here there and everywhere.

The Highway of Legends Tours over the past two years have been great, and allowed me to get back to grass-roots.

Doing a show such as this with my great friends, Gray Bartlett, Jodie Vaughan, Martin Crump, Patsy Riggir, Yolande Gibson and the ever popular Hamilton County Blue Grass Band has been amazing. It's like journeying through a "second childhood".

I am absolutely humbled by the incredible response I have personally received from everyone. For a "Country Boy" like me who has been in the Country Music Arena for just on Forty Years, it has given me a "new lease on life".

There still is music in these old bones!

Over the past 10 years I have travelled to the Trans-Tasman Country Music Awards in lovely Norfolk Island and have had the opportunity to spend some quality time with a new generation of Country Music Singers through-out both New Zealand and Australia.

Patrick Dugan was working at the Riccarton carpet factory in 1952 when his wife Coral gave birth to their second son, Brendan, on the 29th of February. When Brendan was nine, and his brother Kevin was eleven, the family went farming, but by the time the boys were of high school age, the family was living in Christchurch again.

Brendan’s great grandfather had arrived in Bluff from County Derry in 1873, and his descendants retained that touch of the blarney and a great love of singing. Patrick sang popular Irish songs, and then turned to country...
